¿Por qué se le llama la flor de pasión?

Quizá se acuerde de una entrada anterior sobre la flor de pasión o la pasionaria. Es una flor súper bella. Pero luego se despertó mi curiosidad. ¿De dónde vino ese nombre? ¿A cuál pasión se refiere? ¿Al apasionamiento romántico?

Bueno, no. Según se relata, la flor se nombró por sacerdotes católicos hace 500 años cuando la descubrieron creciendo en lo que hoy llamamos Latinoamérica. Parece que algunas partes de la flor les recordaban la pasión, o sufrimiento, y muerte de Jesucristo. Mire a la siguiente foto con nombres señalando

How Did the Passion Flower Get Its Name?

You may recall an earlier entry we posted about the Passionflower. It is an incredibly beautiful flower. But then I got a little curious. Where did that name come from? To what passion does the name refer? Romantic passion?

Well, no. The story goes like this: The flower was named by Roman Catholic priests about 500 years ago when they discovered it growing in what is now called Latin America. Apparently some parts of the flower reminded them of the passion, or suffering, and death of Jesus Christ. Check out the photo

No todo es como parece ser. Esta entrada tendrá la respuesta al macro misterioso del mes. Lamentablemente, no había nadie que lo adivinó correcto. Y me da vergüenza decir, hablando la verdad, que hasta hace unos días, tampoco tenía yo la respuesta correcta... y fui el fotógrafo. He aquí la foto completa de la cual se sacó el macro misterioso del mes.
