The Monthly Mystery Macro misterioso del mes

Each month we post a mystery macro challenge. Here is the one for October:

Here’s the challenge: Tell us what you think it is. If you have an idea then leave a comment in the box below where it says “Post a comment...” Even if you just want to guess: ‘Flora’ or ‘Fauna’. Later in the month we will be posting an entry with the answer and some more details. And the first person to guess correctly will receive a free dinner at an upscale restaurant. In last month’s challenge there was a close answer, but no one got it. So... What do you think? Can you figure it out?

Pues... ¿Que opina? ¿Lo puede resolver?

  2. Hello! Glad you guys are well! My guess is a type of cactus, along the lines of Echinopsis tarijensis (AKA:Echinopsis tarijensis subsp. tarijensis, Trichocereus poco, Trichocereus narvaecensis, Trichocereus tarijensis) I could be way off, but it looks to me a close up of the thorns from one. Either way- what kind of camera do you use? That close up is amazing!

    1. We use an Olympus TG-810. Not very fancy, but it's tough and does a good job.
